Custom Manufacturing of Metal Formed Brass Shields Components

A telecommunications client in Barcelona, Spain approached us to manufacture this brass component which is used as a shield for an Ethernet cable (CAT 6 Cable). Composed of CDA260 brass, and nickel plated the part measured .722" in length, .462" in width, with an O.D. of .259", an I.D.241" and material thickness of .013".

The manufacturing process required die design and fabrication and in-line deep draw metal stamping which we performed on our 312 Platarg transfer press, as well as rigorous quality control. After stamping each component was vapor degreased, annealed, nickel plated and packaged. Gem Manufacturing currently produces 5.5 million pieces annually with a 3 to 4 week turnaround from receipt of order.
